ASMA is the collaborative practice of Matias Armendaris (b. 1990, Ecuador) and Hanya Beliá (b. 1994, Mexico), who live and work in Mexico City. Their multidisciplinary practice explores the possibilities of material interplay, creating hybrid works through sculpture, painting, and installation. They merge traditional artisan techniques with synthetic and industrial processes, employing a diverse range of materials such as silicone, resin, bronze, steel, glass, textiles and found objects.Their research integrates concepts from literature, mythology, and philosophy, while also exploring the human condition and psychoaffective states through a metamodern lens.
